ISLAMABAD: Kashmir Solidarity Day is being observed today. The purpose to mark the day is to express solidarity with the Kashmiris and pledge to seek a resolution of Kashmir dispute according to UN resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
The day will dawn with special prayers for the martyrs of Kashmir, victory of the freedom struggle and expression of solidarity with the Kashmiri people. Nation-wide one-minute silence will be observed at 10.00 a.m. to honour Kashmiri martyrs.
President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif are likely to visit Muzaffarabad to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir. Human chains at Kohala and Mangla Bridges, Azadpatan and other points linking Pakistan and Azad Kashmir will be formed.
