FIR on Indian spy Kulbushan Yadav had been registered and a case was being prepared.

ISLAMABAD: Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz told a Senate session that the First Investigation Report (FIR) on Indian spy Kulbushan Yadav had been registered and a case was being prepared.

Pakistan arrested RAW agent Kulbhushan Yadav from Balochistan, in March 2016, who confessed to fueling the Baloch separatist movement and attempts sabotage the CPEC project. Sartaj Aziz added that the United Nations Secretary General had been informed of Indian interference on Pakistan soil and specifically the activities of Kulbhushan Yadav. He added that a proposal to inform other countries about the presence of the Indian spy was being considered. He said that the purpose of a dossier was to establish if India was directly involved in terrorist activities in Pakistan. The advisor on foreign affairs added that a list of questions had been sent to India over the presence of Yadav in Pakistan, which would assist in court proceedings.

He said that the dossier was not the only way forward, the real thing was to work on prosecution of the Indian officer. During the session Senator Sehar Kamran asked about the delay in the formation of a dossier on the Indian spy. To this the foreign office submitted a written reply which stated that the dossier contains sensitive information and facts on ground, and includes input from various department, therefore to ensure solid investigation it was being delayed. In a question Senator Talha Mahmood asked if Kulbushan Yadav will be handed over to India on red carpet exactly like American spy Raymond Davis was returned.

Sartaj Aziz replied that no such proposal was on the cards. Pakistan People’s Party stalwart Aitezaz Ahsan questioned as to why the Prime Minister refrains from naming Kulbushan Yadav.“The day he takes his name I will donate Rs50,000 rupees to an organization for the welfare of the blind,”he said. Sartaj Aziz answered that the Prime Minister will name the Indian spy when the right occasion comes.
