The Heinous Crime Investigation Unit on Tuesday said it solved a murder case from Nov 8 and arrested two suspects.
Sub Divisional Police Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Javaid Hassan told media persons that Mohammad Safeer, 30 and a native of Mansehra, who worked as a driver, was found dead in a rented room on G.T Road in Jameelabad, in the limits of the Taxila police station, with a bullet injury to his head, on Nov 8.
He said a case was registered on the complaint of the deceased’s brother, Mohammad Rafeeq and the case was handed over to the Heinous Crime Investigation Unit.
The DSP said a team led by Sub-Inspector Sabitul Hassan and Nisar Ahmed solved the case by perusing phone records and other evidence.
The DSP said the victim’s wife, Asya Bibi and his nephew, 23-year-old Mohammad Qadeer were arrested and are thought to have been having an affair.
